It was a fine winter evening in France with a bit of wine and many great ideas. Like all good brainstorming sessions, ideas got thrown around and argued over, and what emerged was the seedling of a daring venture.

How about we help people fix things? We help them really understand data, solve the issues they have with the tools they have instead of advising them to get better tools. We’ve done this many times over, in different settings and with vastly different toolsets and frameworks. So why not export the expertise to everyone? All people deserve to be able to make good, data-driven decisions.

And not only that, let’s support them through the whole process. Often, what’s perceived, for example, as a data visualization problem is really so much more than that. It could be messy data. It could be poor communication. It could be inefficient processes. It could be systems that don’t “talk” to each other. It could be the lack of customer-first mindset. Or, you guessed it, d) all of the above.

Oh, and we can do more! Our own lives are supported by nifty little tools, automated sheets, alerts and visualizations (we’re just nerdy like that). Let’s share the love.

And so the core of Ahem Analytics was born.

Fun fact – it wasn’t Ahem right off the bat. For the story of alternative baby names, you’ll have to message us and offer coffee.
